LVN Intravenous Therapy Certification

Topics include: legal aspect, types of venipuncture devices, regulation of the fluid flow, patient observation, psychological preparation, choice and preparation of equipment, venipuncture technique, safety factors and choice of vein. Each participant in the intravenous therapy course will demonstrate three successful venipunctures. Liability insurance required (fee to be determined). (IV Therapy Certification 30 CEU credits), (BVNPT Provider). Patricia Karnstedt and Matthew Martin, instructors. Prerequisite: Must be an LVN and have a valid nursing license to register. Students will be required to show license at the time of registration.
