Graduating class of 2008 announced
Antelope Valley College held its annual commencement on Saturday, May 31 at Marie Kerr Park Amphitheater for students successfully completing the requirements for associate in arts and associate in science degrees, as well as certificate programs.
Graduates on the list below were recognized for special achievement with the following designations:
*** Summa Cum Laude: With Highest Distinction. Student has a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 to 4.0. Student wears a gold tassel.
**Magna Cum Laude: With Great Distinction. Student has a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 to 3.74. Student wears a gold tassel.
*Cum Laude: With Distinction. Student has a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 to 3.49. Student wears a gold tassel.
Bold type: Indicates those students who have qualified for permanent membership in
Alpha Gamma Sigma, the California Community College Honor Scholarship Society. Active permanent members of Alpha Gamma Sigma wear academic regalia
consisting of a gold stole with a gold tassel on the cap.
