What are the different
types of Articulation Agreements?
Course to Course Agreements:
These agreements specify equivalent
courses at AVC and other educational institutions.
Transfer Course Agreements:
These are agreements which specify
the transferability of AVC courses to particular universities.
* UC transferable courses are also
listed in the AVC Catalog and Schedule of Classes
with a “UC” designation after the course
description.
* CSU transferable courses are listed
in the AVC Catalog and Schedule of Classes with a
“CSU” designation after the course description.
As a general rule, all courses numbered 100 or higher
transfer to the CSU system.
General Education Agreements:
These are agreements which specify
those courses that a student can complete at AVC to
satisfy the Lower Division (Freshman and Sophomore level)
general education requirements for the Bachelor’s
Degree at a specific transfer institution. Examples
of these agreements are:
* The California State University
General Education Breath Requirements (Certification).
* The Intersegmental General Education
Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) for the University of
California and the California State University Systems.
* Agreements with some private (USC)
and out-of-state universities as well.
Major Preparation:
These agreements specify the Lower
Division (Freshman and Sophomore level) courses required
for the major at the transfer institution.
